Taking the opportunity of West-East electricity transmission and West-East coal transport projects, Hami Prefecture tries to build up thermal power, wind power and photoelectric bases by making plans for advantageous resources utilization.

The wind resource in Hami makes up 63 percent of XJ's technical exploitation amount.In this May,State Grid Corporation released the access system and power transmission plan for the 7 big wind power bases in 2015 and 2020.

Besides, Hami Prefecture is also rich in coal and solar energy, and the reserves rank top in XJ. At present, over 30 big companies, including China Poly Group Corporation, State Development and investment Corporation and China National Coal Group Corporation have put investment in Hami for coal resource exploitation.

With the construction of the second double line of Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway, the large scale coal transport to the outside will start.

NDRC approved the integration project of Xinjiang and northwest power grid in early Mar. It is the power transmission and transformation project with the largest scale, the longest line and the biggest investment in the history of northwest power grid.

As the key part of West-East electricity transmission project and the important supporting power source, Hami will gain the capacity of transporting wind power, photoelectric and thermal power to the outside.
