India, expected to be the next big growth market for Australian coal, has joined the queue.
The State Government-owned North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation on Jul 12 announced that India's Adani Group had been given the rights to assess the viability of new coal export infrastructure at Dudgeon Point near Mackay.
Prime Infrastructure's Dalrymple Bay Coal terminal Management is the other "preferred proponent" for development of the coal terminal which lies within the Port of Hay Point.
The area is close to DBCT's existing terminal and adjacent to the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance-owned Hay Point export facility.
