Waste leakage from a mine owned by Zijin Mining Group has contaminated a river in Fujian province, China.

The leak at Zijinshan mine killed fish in a reservoir on the Tingjiang River, reports Xinhua news agency.

In May the group said it had taken corrective action on its mines, including Zijinshan, following criticism from environmental protection agencies.
