Rio Tinto Awards CiDRA Supply Contract for Mongolian Project

Published: Jul 06,2011 08:21:12

Rio Tinto has selected CiDRA Minerals Processing's SONARtrac flow monitoring systems for its slurry lines at its Oyu Tolgoi project in Mongolia.

CiDRA will install 30 lines at the new concentrator, where SONARtrac systems are expected to provide increased accuracy and reduced maintenance costs.

SONARtrac flow monitoring systems make no contact with the liquid or slurry and can be removed and reinstalled without process interruption.

The Government of Mongolia holds a 34% interest in Oyu Tolgoi copper and gold mine, with the remaining stake held by Ivanhoe Mines and Rio Tinto.
